How the Woodpecker Method works
Instead of solving thousands of different puzzles once, you take a fixed set and cycle through it repeatedly. Each pass is quicker than the last, because the patterns move from something you work out to something you simply recognise.
Chess Mastery Trainer lets you assemble that set yourself from the puzzle themes you choose, so the drill goes straight at the tactics you want to be fluent in.

Sets are drawn from the open Lichess puzzle database, over six million puzzles tagged by theme. Pick the themes, build the set, and start cycling. Your progress through every cycle is tracked alongside the rest of your training.
